This contemporary dance course will help you to familiarise yourself with your own anatomy, activating different areas through a series of warm-ups and exercises that combine techniques from ballet, pilates and contemporary dance.
It hopes to develop your articulations, alignment, strength, weight, space, gravity, rhythm, musicality, breathing and timing.
This online workshop is for anyone who wants to explore their body, the language of movement and the joy of dance. Lockdown has made many of us feel restricted – we will find a radical new freedom through physical self-expression.
This course will include:
Body awareness – bringing knowledge and structure to a body to dance safely.
Confidence and self-esteem – connect with and enjoy your body
Creativity – lose your inhibitions to unlock your creative potential.
Breathing – to bring natural timing and flow.
Inspiration – selecting images from magazines, artworks and photographs, copying a pose, translating it to dance.
‘Isolated dance’ – dance focusing on only a single part of the body.
