Poplar LDN is a news and culture magazine that provides daily content about Poplar and its outlying areas including Limehouse in East London.

As a social enterprise, we are committed to pioneering a model of community-led local journalism. Our writers are part of our Fellowship scheme receiving professional training in constructive journalism. They bring a passion for better journalism that improves society.

2016 to present

Tabitha is the founder and director of Social Streets C.IC, the not-for-profit news and media organisation that publishes Poplar LDN. She has worked as a magazine editor at several top publishing houses, most recently at Hearst Magazines where she lead on digital content strategy for titles including Elle, Red, Esquire, Handbag and Harpers, and previously The Telegraph Saturday Magazine. Stapely was CEO of Roman Road Trust from 2013 to 2018 and has extensive experience of local governance, neighbourhood forums and community capacity building.

Growing up in Bury, Greater Manchester Ruby moved to London in 2018 after graduating from the University of Salford with a First-Class Honours degree in Multimedia Journalism. Ruby works as a freelance journalist writing long-form features and personal essays about culture, current affairs, and the arts. She has just started the role of Financial Reporter for Accountancy Daily Magazine. Ruby also dabbles in social media marketing and management working for Gutter Street Theatre Company.
